Kevin Durant has begun contract negotiations with the Turkish team Besiktas, according to his agent Aaron Goodwin.

Earl Clark has signed a one-year contract to play for the Zhejiang Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association.
Clark's deal will not include an opt-out clause to return to the NBA. Because he was an unrestricted free agent, Clark did not need a letter of clearance from FIBA in order to head overseas. This is the same team that reportedly offered Dirk Nowitzki $1.5 million monthly to play for them. While Clark isn't exactly an All-Star signing for the club, he did show that he was a capable role player after being dealt to the Magic in the middle of last season.

Mills, who plays for the Portland Trailblazers is available to the the NBL club for the 2011/12 season because of the player lockout, which threatens to cancel the NBA season.

The speedy guard turned down lucrative offers from a number of European teams in favour of some time down under.

Basketball Australia chief executive Larry Sengstock said it was a coup for the NBL.

"Patty Mills is an NBA player in the prime of his career, and one of Australia's best basketballers," said Sengstock.

"For fans to be able to watch a player of Mills' ilk at the peak of their powers is a rare opportunity."

It's believed the 23-year-old's contract contains a clause that will allow him to return to the United States should the lockout end before the end of the NBL season.

Mills is currently in Australia preparing for the Boomers do-or-die Olympic qualification series against arch-rivals New Zealand.

They will face the Tall Blacks in a three-game series with games in Melbourne (Sept 7), Brisbane (Sept 9) and Sydney (Sept 11).

Mills and the Tigers will open the 2011/12 NBL season against the Sydney Kings at Melbourne's State Netball Hockey Centre on Friday October 7.
