Diário do urubu - 13/14

Report: A. Bynum expected to miss preseason

Sam Amico is reporting that Andrew Bynum (knees) is not expected to participate in training camp or play in the preseason for the Cavaliers.
Here we go again. Bynum, who missed all of last season with numerous knee issues and only made it through one practice, doesn't sound close to being ready for game action. We weren't really expecting any miracles, but given all the time he's had to get right, the news is disappointing. The Cavs are determined to keep Bynum out of uniform until he's fully healthy, and while that could be as soon as opening night (Oct. 30), he's going to be extremely rusty when he does eventually play. At this point, you're probably better off letting someone else draft him.

Olha ai Matheus, começou:
Emeka Okafor out indefinitely with neck issue

The Wizards announced that Emeka Okafor (neck) is out indefinitely with a spine injury.
An MRI revealed that he has a herniated C4 disc, which is located in the lower part of the neck. Okafor could miss time in the regular season and he said the Wizards are still hopeful to make the playoffs. Injuries to the spine can be tricky to put a prognosis on, so we're not going to speculate. Kevin Seraphin could have a chance to rebound from his sub-par 2012-13 and will be worth drafting late.

Pau que bate em chico ...

Russell Westbrook, coming off surgery for a torn meniscus, may not be at 100 percent to start the season.
It doesn't sound like he's in great jeopardy of missing any games, but he may not be working with a full deck of cards in the early part of the season. We're still bullish on Westbrook, and think he should be taken in the Top 10 picks of all drafts. But just beware that he could get off to a slow start as he works his way back to full speed.

Danny Granger said Wednesday he doesn't plan on discussing his rehab from knee surgery until media day on September 27.
When asked if playing again was a concern, Granger said: "It’s not. It’s a four- to six-month rehab and I’m on the fifth month. I’ll be ready to get on the court; it’s just a matter of when I’m fully ready to play." There is a good chance he's very slow to start the season and could play limited minutes for the first few months of the season. His stock is falling and we'll have to see where he is physically on the 27th. As of now, we'd recommend letting someone else draft him in your fantasy league.

Lou Williams (knee surgery) is still without a timetable to return.
Danilo Gallinari (knee) is still without a timetable, according to his agent Lee Melchionni.

Andrew Bynum (knee) is still without a timetable to return, according to Cavs GM Chris Grant.
Grant added Bynum has made significant progress and has been working hard. The news on the injured center has resembled a broken record and there hasn't been any clear indicator when we'll see him on the court. The former Laker is not expected to play in training camp, so we wouldn't pass on proven assets in the middle rounds of drafts to take a chance on such a giant question mark.

The Bulls plan to limit Joakim Noah's minutes this season in hopes of keeping his recurring plantar fasciitis problems under control.
The Bulls are going to try to rely on Nazr Mohammed to put in quality minutes as the back up center in hopes of keeping Noah healthy. Mohammed may not be ready for a heavy workload, so limiting Noah's minutes will be easier said than done. While Noah's playing time should be a minor concern in fantasy, he's still expected to be a very effective center, so draft him accordingly.

Sixers big man Arnett Moultrie is expected to be sidelined until some time after the new year after undergoing surgery on his left ankle Thursday.
He had a serious chance to start at power forward this season and this just makes a bad Sixers team even worse. As we hinted at on Thursday, this means bigger and better things for Spencer Hawes and Thaddeus Young - both of whom are going to be undervalued going into drafts, while Lavoy Allen is now worth keeping a close eye on.
Chase Budinger has suffered a cartilage injury to his left knee and will see Dr. James Andrews.
No target date for Danilo Gallinari's return
Coach Brian Shaw said Thursday that despite Danilo Gallinari's (ACL surgery) claim that he'll be ready to return to action by the end of November, there is still no target date on when we might see him play again.
