Bynum Could Be Out Until March With Rest, One Year With Surgery
Nov 21, 2012 12:13 PM EST
Andrew Bynum's agent continues to keep the specifics of his client's knee issue a secret.
All of the publicly available information on Bynum suggests a probable diagnosis of osteochondral lesions says one of the nation's top orthopedic surgeons, a condition that may keep Bynum out for the season.
The condition could heal on its own within four to six months, but that would keep Bynum out until March or April.
The surgeon said that surgery could keep him from playing for up to a year.
Bynum should know whether he needs surgery by December.
The surgeon spoke on condition of anonymity because Bynum is not his patient.

ndrew Bogut (ankle) did not practice on Monday, contrary to expectations.
So much for that. Bogut and the Warriors are wisely waiting until his ankle is pain-free, and owners in 12-team leagues have no choice but to be skeptical about his value until we've seen him on the court.
Mo Williams (foot) will not play on Monday against the Nuggets.
Williams will be replaced by Jamaal Tinsley in the starting lineup again. Williams has been out since Saturday with the injury and the Jazz won't rush him to return, though he hopes to return on Wednesday against the Hornets. Tinsley is averaging 10.0 assists over his last three games and is a nice short-term play for owners in need of dimes.
Brandon Jennings (ankle) took part in shootaround and is a game-time decision for Monday against the Bulls.
Jennings vowed that he was going to play on Monday, but the Bucks labeled him as questionable coming into the contest. The fact that he participated in shootaround is a great sign, but we likely won't have final word on his availability until shortly before tipoff.
Nene (foot) did not practice on Sunday, but he's expected to play on Monday against the Spurs.
"I plan on him playing," Randy Wittman said. "He didn't get hurt." Nene didn't aggravate his plantar fasciitis by playing 29 minutes on Saturday, but his conditioning is an issue after so much time on the sidelines. Nene's playing time will be dependent upon his pain tolerance. "I can't judge his pain, what kind of pain, if he's having pain," Wittman said.
Anthony Davis (ankle) could miss two more weeks with the stress reaction to his left ankle.
"Hopefully in the next week or two," Davis said when asked about when he could return. The Hornets are erring on the side of caution with their franchise player and justifiably so. The good news is that Davis isn't feeling pain and he has been wearing a walking boot just as a precaution. Owners h
Pau Gasol revealed after Saturday's game that he's been battling knee tendinitis since the preseason.
"It's something that has been lingering," he said. "I've been dealing with it the best I can." The hits keep coming for Gasol, though it seems Mike D'Antoni is making an effort to appease him -- he gave Pau a pep talk after Saturday's game, in which Gasol played well in 28 minutes before sitting out the fourth quarter of a blowout win. It doesn't sound like he's in any danger of missing gamese in his absence.
Andrew Bynum (knees) will have another MRI on Dec. 10, and the Sixers are leaving his return date entirely in Bynum's hands.
"We’re anticipating he’ll be back at some point," said GM Tony DiLeo. "We hope he will be back. We have plans for the future if he is not back with us, but we are anticipating this is a short-term thing." It's hard to imagine Bynum's knees looking much different in a few weeks, and DiLeo even said that Bynum's "knees now in the MRIs are not the same as they were at the time [the 76ers acquired him] so it’s a different type of situation."

LaMarcus Aldridge (stiff back) will not play on Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets.
This is a huge blow for fantasy owners on a Sunday and also a big surprise. Aldridge has dealt with a wrist injury, but the back spasms are something that can linger all season. His owners should stay tuned to see if he'll be able to give it a go for the four-game week. Meyers Leonard would take over as the starting power forward.
Mais noticias:
Dwight Howard (shoulder) has been diagnosed with a torn labrum and will miss at least one week, but he's officially listed as 'out indefinitely.'
We're viewing the 'one week' timetable skeptically until we know more about the injury -- most labrum tears don't require surgery, and Dwight said outright "I don't knee surgery," but the type and severity of the tear will ultimately determine his return date. Jordan Hill (hip) and Pau Gasol (concussion) will miss at least the next two games, which leaves L.A. threadbare in the middle. Antawn Jamison and Earl Clark will be forced into heavy minutes, and we may see Robert Sacre called up from the D-League.
Nikola Pekovic (thigh) nearing return, maybe
Nikola Pekovic is expected to return from his thigh contusion at some point during the Wolves' six-game homestand that starts Wednesday against the Clippers.
The problem is that return date is vague enough that he could potentially play on Wednesday, or miss another week with his injury. The smart move would be to err on the side of caution and keep Pek benched until we actually know when he'll play again. And since they don't play until Wednesday, we doubt we'll have a concrete update until after lineup deadlines have passed.

Andrew Bogut without firm timetable to return
Andrew Bogut (ankle) remains without a firm timetable for his return.
Previously, it was reported that the "prevailing thought" among the Warriors is that Bogut was one month away, but there is no clear timetable for his return to the court. "It's progressing, but it's frustrating at the same time," he said. "It's one of those things where I come back and ease into things," he added. Don't expect Bogut to be himself when he does return, whenever that may be.

Andrew Bynum targeting Feb. 1 practice debut
Andrew Bynum (knees) could return to full practice by the end of the week, and the Sixers are hopeful he'll be able to play in at least one game before the All-Star break.
Thee Sixers have been tight-lipped with Bynum's progress considering all of his setbacks this season, but it appears real progress is being made. Bynum has bene participating in shootarounds, doing non-contact drills and working on the antigravity treadmill. "We're hoping for the first of February for practice," GM Tony DiLeo said. Bynum is worth a speculative add in all formats if he's on the wire.

Tyson Chandler struggles through neck injury
Tyson Chandler appeared to suffer a neck injury on Sunday and finished the win with just two points, three rebounds and two blocks in 36 minutes.
Chandler's neck was an issue all game and while we doubt he misses time with the injury, we're going to put him on the injury report just in case. Watch for updates on Monday.

Mike Conley in a walking boot, iffy Monday
Mike Conley, who left Sunday's game after four minutes due to a sprained left ankle, was in a walking boot after the game and unsure about his availability for Monday's game against the Sixers.
Given the fact he didn't return tonight and is in a walking boot, we'd be surprised to see him on the court Monday night, giving owners in weekly leagues a tough decision to make. If he's out, Jerryd Bayless is going to be worth a pick-and-play until Conley is back.

Arron Afflalo injures calf in loss to Pistons
Arron Afflalo played 26 minutes on Sunday, but hit just 2-of-7 shots for four points, four assists and a steal before sitting out the fourth quarter due to a slight left calf strain.
Afflalo has disappeared a couple times recently and the injury doesn't sound too serious. Hopefully we'll have an update on his status before your lineup is due on Monday.

TÉGÃO RISING UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!ENT NEWS
Glen Davis will undergo foot surgery on Friday for a fractured fifth metatarsal and is expected to miss 8-12 weeks.
Even if he returns in just eight weeks, Davis would have eight games in April to make an impact, but the more probable scenario is he's sidelined longer than just eight weeks and winds up missing the rest of the season. The Magic could use a committee approach to replace Davis, but Andrew Nicholson could wind up being a fantasy sleeper if the Magic move to a youth movement. Keep an eye on the rookie
